Place it in the refrigerator, then come back the following day. Depending on how hard it was when you cut it open, it might take a little longer, but eventually, it’ll ripen up wonderfully.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/span>Why are my avocados hard?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\nAvocados that are hard and brilliant green still have 4–7 days to ripen. Avocados that are quite firm when palmed and have a bright green color are still underripe and need 4 to 7 days on the counter before they are edible.
