What To Do If Accidentally Left Gas Stove On
If you accidentally left the gas stove unattended without using its flames for 30 minutes, turn the stove off immediately & open the windows to let the gas evaporate. If the stove was on with flames unattended for 30 minutes, hurry and turn the gas off and ventilate the room. Call help if the fire has spread already.

What to do when you smell gas
If you smell gas and the stove is not left on, evacuate your home as soon as possible and call 9-1-1. If you smell gas but didn’t leave the stove on, leave the house immediately. Another situation where you might smell gas is when you leave the stove on by mistake.
You may simply forget to turn off the stove when you leave the house, or something is wrong with the gas line. Perhaps you forgot to turn off the stove when you left the house, or you were in a hurry to clean up after dinner and therefore did not turn off the gas stove completely.

Carbon monoxide is produced when any type of fuel is burned, such as natural gas, propane, gasoline, kerosene, coal, wood, coal, and even power plants. When natural gas makes up 5 to 15 percent of indoor air, it can ignite.

Stove lights can produce carbon monoxide if the gas is not properly distributed. If you notice that your gas stove flame is yellow or orange (instead of blue or teal), it could be a sign that it produces carbon monoxide. If you notice the flames turning orange or yellow, this could be a sign that the device is producing toxic carbon monoxide.
Gas stoves can start a fire if you’re not at home, but if you’re at home, you may not even know about carbon monoxide poisoning.
If you leave the pot unattended on the stove, everything in the pot will eventually boil or burn, which could start a fire. If there is low heat in the pot, cover the pot and turn off the heat.

If you use propane indoors for all basic household needs, like using a gas stove, etc., fixing a gas leak will take longer than natural gas. If you are in an area with earthquakes like the West Coast, you need to think even more about a gas leak. Ideally, you should never leave your gas stove while cooking.
What precautions to take if the gas stove is left on without flame?
You need to take some immediate actions, such as turning off the stove to prevent further gas leaking, evacuating everyone, including pets, turn the cooker’s fan on to help air the room.
How long to air out the house after the gas burner is left on?
The authorities typically advise it to open up the doors and windows immediately after the gas leakage and let it air out for about 15 minutes to an hour. The time duration completely depends on the severity of the leakage and for how long did it happen.
