A better Subway will have a third bottle, containing a mixture of oil and vinegar, which you shake before applying to temporarily set, also guaranteeing an even ratio of oil to vinegar. Other stores will have one bottle containing a blend of oil and vinegar, that they shake before applying, in order to ensure a consistent proportion of both vinegar and oil. Some stores have one bottle of oil and one of vinegar separated, and will pour a portion of either onto your sandwich on demand. For one big sandwich, use 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 3 tablespoons of oil.

It is possible that certain Subway locations will have a single oil bottle and a single vinegar bottle, and they will add a little bit of each to your order when you ask for butter and vinegar.
