What Can I Use Instead Of Cocktail Sauce
There are several condiments that may be used instead of cocktail sauce, such as salsa, thousand island dressing, Russian dressing, remoulade, and Marie rose sauce. You can also prepare your own using ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and a couple of drops of Worcestershire sauce.
You can replace the cocktail sauce with Thousand Island, Russian, mayonnaise, Mary Rose or salsa. You can use high-quality ingredients when making fish cocktail sauce, and the homemade version is free of high fructose corn syrup, sodium benzoate, and xanthan gum.

As a last resort, I can buy a bottle of delicious BBQ sauce instead of using my favorite chipotle homemade BBQ sauce for cocktail ribs and meatballs.
I know it’s very easy to buy a store-bought jar, especially since at this time of the year supermarkets and fishmongers kindly put up counters with jam from all kinds of sea sauces right where the shrimp are.

Chipotle sauce is similar to ketchup and can be used in the same way, but spicier, so there’s a delicious warmth in every bite. Because chili sauce is a condiment, it can be used in any egg dish, including but not limited to fried eggs, scrambled eggs, and fried eggs. We wouldn’t use hot ketchup for a more authentic chili sauce (go with sriracha), but depending on the context of your recipe, it might work. Spicy ketchup will obviously be sweeter and more tender than Sriracha, so as an ingredient it works well in larger proportions (e.g. meatloaf).

If you run out of ketchup and need it for a recipe, just mix 1/2 cup ketchup with 1/2 cup water to make a 1 cup ketchup substitute. For this replacement, you’ll need to grab a few items from the pantry, but luckily most of us have those.
You can change the flavor by adding fresh chopped parsley, hot sauce (tabasco), Old Bay dressing, lemon zest, or whatever else you like. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, capers, parsley, gherkin, brown mustard, hot sauce and tarragon.
PS Speaking of not stressing out, all of these sauces can be made in a few days, except for the Thai one, which I wouldn’t do in more than 1 day, just to keep the flavor as fresh as possible. Not only do homemade sauces taste better, but there are so many unnecessary extras added to the ready-made options. We use horseradish cooked in our wonderful homemade Bloody Mary and Bloody Mary Shooter mixes with shrimp or oysters, but you can easily use it fresh here too.
