What Are Alternatives To Red Wine

There are many recipes that require the addition of red wine to the dish. But if you are running out of your favourite red wine for the recipe, you can use some other alternatives that ensure the same taste profile. You can use, red wine vinegar, white vinegar, pomegranate juice, lemon juice and cranberry juice.

If you’re making a particular dish that doesn’t require a red wine flavor, you can use lemon juice instead of red wine vinegar. To use this substitute, mix the two liquids in equal parts (2 tablespoons red wine vinegar = 1 tablespoon red wine + 1 tablespoon white vinegar).

You can still substitute red wine vinegar for apple cider vinegar if the recipe calls for more, but you may notice a more fruity flavor.
