Can You Reset Your Bosch Dishwasher?

The reset feature can be difficult to find on many Bosch dishwashers. For most newer models, the reset button is the same as the start button. Click and hold the start button for 3–5 seconds and the dishwasher will automatically reset and start to drain any water within. For older models, there is usually a “drain” or “cancel” button for reset.

After the dishwasher has finished working, the dishwasher cycle cannot be reset again and again, after a while it should be reset. If this doesn’t stop, restart your dishwasher by unplugging it from the power source for about a minute before plugging it back in. If the dishwasher does not restart after restarting with the start button, you can unplug the appliance from the mains socket and leave the dishwasher for a few minutes.

Press the on/off button (dishwasher off) and control should be restored. Press and hold this button for 3-5 seconds, this should reset the dishwasher. Then, to restart the dishwasher, press and hold the cycle select button for five seconds. Depending on the model, a single press of the start/reset button will start the dishwasher cycle.

Make sure the dishwasher door is closed and press the reset button for about 3 seconds. When starting the dishwasher, make sure the door is fully closed so that the latch and switch engage. Before turning off the dishwasher, close the door to make sure it is completely drained and dry.

Press and hold START on the front of the dishwasher for three seconds to cancel the cycle. Open the door far enough to reveal the control buttons, then press and hold the two buttons labeled “Undrain” for three seconds.

Generally, the best way to reset is to open the dishwasher door, then press and hold the start button for three seconds or more. Many Bosch dishwashers (especially those with the above controls) have to press the appropriate cycle and select buttons, then press the start button and all doors open.

On newer Bosch dishwashers, you can easily reset the main control panel by finding and pressing the start button. To restart a modern Bosch dishwasher, press the start button for 3-5 seconds, and for an older Bosch dishwasher, press the normal wash button and the rinse button at the same time and hold. Modern dishwashers have a start and reset button the same, so the user is confused by pressing or holding the start button on the dishwasher for 3-5 seconds. If the lights are flashing and the dishwasher beeps, simply press the Start/Reset button to return the dishwasher to normal operation.

For example, the reset indicator will flash when the dishwasher needs to be restarted. For example, if your dishwasher is showing some remote codes or won’t cycle. If the dishwasher leaves the dishes dirty, this is a sign of a malfunction of the Aqua sensor in the dishwasher.

If your dishwasher is still not beeping, read the buttons on your keyboard to understand why the dishwasher won’t start. If you cannot determine the error code but your dishwasher is not working properly, perform a master reset. What caused your particular GE dishwasher to fail may also dictate the reset instructions that will work best for you. If you are experiencing power surges, dishwasher problems, or if you are adding dishes after a cycle has started, you may need to reset your GE dishwasher.

If the pressure doesn’t work, try restarting the device by turning off the power and waiting before plugging it back in. If the problem persists, try resetting (restarting) your Bosch dishwasher by turning off power to the machine through the box switch/fuse for at least 30 seconds. If even switching from a wash cycle to a wash still does not solve the problem, it is very likely that the dishwasher has stuck on one of the wash cycles and will need to reset the cycle.

If this safety feature is accidentally activated, it disables all dishwasher controls, making it impossible to perform a new wash cycle. If the dishwasher is in a wash or rinse cycle, to avoid burns, open the door far enough to stop the machine from working. Open the dishwasher door slowly during the mid-cycle reset to avoid burns and injury from hot water. Press On/Off to end the cycle and pull the dishwasher door handle towards you to open the door and access the dishes.

After about a minute, the dishwasher will return to normal and be ready for use. In this method, all you have to do is unplug the dishwasher and wait 10-15 minutes.

If you have an older Bosch dishwasher, you may need to hold down the Cancel or Drain buttons for three to five seconds. Your modern Bosh dishwasher may have a start button instead of a reset button; while an older Bosh dishwasher will have a cancel or drain button. The first step in replacing the start button is to turn off the dishwasher at the switch box to avoid electrical shock or other dangerous problems. If the power goes off while the dishwasher is in the middle of a cycle, on most GE models the dishwasher remembers where it was in the cycle and resumes from that point on.

If the door is firmly closed and the dishwasher is connected to an active power source and still does not start, check if the child lock is activated. After removing the child lock function, it is now possible to carefully open the dishwasher door of this model to see inside the buttons labeled “START RESET”. A common error message for Bosch dishwashers that can be fixed with a quick reset is error E15.

For a variety of reasons, including adding another dish, clearing an error message, waking up a frozen display, or changing a setting mid-cycle, Bosch dishwashers may require a quick reset. Some issues can be solved by pressing a few buttons, while others require a more involved approach.

A red flashing light on your dishwasher usually indicates that it is unable to complete its cycle due to a problem with the power source, water flow, or dispenser. A damaged circuit board, a faulty water intake valve, or a faulty dishwasher door switch are all common reasons for this problem.
