The problem is most dorms don’t have an oven, and microwaved babies have terrible results. We all know how unhealthy deep frying can be, but most french fries or frozen patties are raw and undercooked in the oven.
Using an air fryer
There’s no need to fry them again in something like an air fryer – you can get the same crispy crust you want just by circulating hot air. The air circulating in the fryer helps to make the skin crispy like a deep fryer but without the extra oil. Spray with olive oil.
A handy spray makes it easy to work on the inside of the fryer, but you can also use a kitchen brush to coat the bottom and sides.
Using a convection oven
Convection oven-style fryer: Arrange the patties in a single layer on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt. Gently shake the tortillas in a single layer, then squeeze out all the air before sealing.
You will need a thorough check towards the end to make sure they don’t burn; add the potatoes after a few minutes… For about 16 ounces or five servings of potatoes for 17-19 minutes…, then soak in a non-stick single-layer pan with a light shake of the grill helps.
