Once the gas is turned off, you can move the stove further into the kitchen using a wooden plank. Then move the stove far enough away from the wall to access the gas line and turn off the stove. Use a large piece of plywood to move the stove a few feet away from the wall until you can clearly see the natural gas connection.
In most cases, if you want to connect a new stove to the same gas line, you should unplug it from the stove first to be less likely to damage the wall. When you are sure that the proper precautions have been taken, you can move on to disconnecting that particular line from the oven. The fitting from the gas line to the gas stove will be open for some time, so the valve that feeds this fitting must be closed. After turning off the gas with the key, unlock the hose fitting that connects the stove to the gas. Next, you will need to find and disconnect the wire connecting the stove to the power source.
In the event of a power failure at this outlet, you can simply unplug the electric stove and remove it from its place. If there are no shut-off valves on the power line near the appliance, you will need to turn off the gas in the entire house. To shut off the gas supply, first shut off the main gas pipeline using the shut-off valve located next to the outlet. The valve on the side of the house can be placed immediately after the gas pipeline enters the house or below, but it will always be in front of the tee in the pipe or connecting the device.
The lever that controls the home side valve will be in line with the pipe when the gas is turned on and will be perpendicular to the pipe when closed. The main shut-off valve on the street side will most likely resemble gas mains valves and can be actuated by turning the valve so that it is in line with the pipe when the main gas supply is turned on or perpendicular to the pipe when the gas is turned off. To turn off the gas in your home with a faucet on the side of the house, move the lever so that it is at right angles to the pipe.
The gas can now be re-ignited if you turned it off. The turn will stop the gas supply to your home, but it will take some time because there is gas left in the line. After the shutdown is complete, you will need to turn off the gas source in order to use it for other purposes.
Once I close both valves and disconnect the hose from our gas stove, I will also close the line where I disconnected the stove. Then inside the kitchen there is a shut-off valve where the stove connects to the gas line. The flue pipe usually comes out of the floor next to the stove.
It is necessary to understand the pipes that connect the gas outlet to the stove, which are usually flexible, long and can be seen on the floor near the kitchen. If the flexible air tube is not new, it is not recommended to reuse it so that it can also be disconnected from the back of the oven. Do not attempt to move the stove without knowing how far the flexible gas connection will run, if the connection is old it may be damaged.
Take the new “range” gas line connector and attach it to the gas line using a strip of Teflon tape over the wires to seal the connection. Once the new pipe is in place, connect the gas regulator and connect it to the stove. Keep in mind that as soon as you disconnect the hose, move it aside and then spray soapy water on the gas line connection.
On the pipe, be sure to try opening the gas shut-off valve, then turn the lever to shut off the gas supply to the stove. The shut-off valve must be located at the back of the oven and the pipe must protrude from the wall. Turn offers you double protection: both the main valve and the valve are fully closed.
To restart the gas supply, turn the knob counterclockwise until the flame re-ignites. If the electricity is turned off and there is no gas, the pilot gas will still power the room.
Newer appliances don’t have test lights, so if you can’t confirm that your home’s gas is turned off this way, it’s best to play it safe and call the gas company to have your gas checked. line. If you don’t notice any signs of a potential gas leak, you can proceed with laying the rest of the floor or installing a new stove. The nearest socket is the place where we can plug a regular gas stove to provide it with the same amount of electricity for the trigger.
How do I know if the gas valve is off?
It’s open and the gas is flowing when the long side of the nub or handle is parallel to the incoming gas line. It’s closed when it’s twisted a quarter turn perpendicular to the incoming pipe.
