If you want perfectly cooked eggs that are easy to peel every time, then we can show you how to cook boiled eggs in a slow cooker. The instant pot is by far the best way to boil fresh farm eggs because cooking the eggs in a pressure cooker makes them easier to peel.

Cook the eggs in the pressure cooker for three to nine minutes, depending on the desired yolk consistency. To be honest, we don’t actually use the egg setting, but cook 10 to 12 eggs by pressing the high pressure button. For appetizers, stuffed eggs, and egg slices for salads, I like to cook on high pressure for 7-8 minutes.

Soft-boiled eggs only take 10 minutes from start to finish (this is with increasing pressure). Some of you are reporting that it takes longer to cook eggs, and I find that the extra 5 minutes of natural release works well. If you find your eggs are undercooked, try increasing the cooking time by a minute, or adding a few minutes for natural release before opening the steam valve on the vent. If you don’t like chewy pasta, add an additional 2 minutes of natural pressure release time for that specific type and brand of pasta in the future.

Pressure cooking the dal for 10 minutes will give you a fairly smooth dal, but if you want a smoother dal, add 1-2 minutes to the pressure cooking time or soak the dal for 30 minutes before pressure cooking. As I explained above, the pressure cooking method works best when you need to boil 2-10 or more cups of water. With this pressure method, when you release the pressure, the boil will slow down, preventing the starch from escaping. When boiling water in the Instant Pot, it can be boiled the “traditional” way using the simmer function, or it can be boiled using the pressure cooking mode, as described above.

First of all, it’s important to note that in the Instant Pot, the eggs are actually steamed under pressure rather than cooked in boiling water.

Since the eggs in the pressure cooker are steamed and not boiled, you just need to add a cup of water to the instant pot instead of completely covering the eggs with water as you would when boiling eggs on the stovetop. Add as many eggs as you like, but be sure to cover them with at least 1 inch of water to cook properly. Pour into a cup of water, spread the eggs in an even layer (you don’t want them to overlap to ensure even cooking), then cover and close the lid. When the pressure is completely released and the pressure gauge has dropped, remove the lid, use tongs to transfer the hot eggs to a bowl of ice water and leave for 5 minutes to stop the cooking process.

Quickly release any remaining pressure, then stop the cooking process by letting the eggs cool in a nice bowl of ice water for 5 minutes. Once the pressure is released, stop the residual cooking, which will harden all of your eggs in a few minutes, and immediately transfer them to an ice bath. Set the manual high pressure setting and set the timer to the desired cooking (5 minutes soft, 6-8 minutes medium, 9-10 minutes hard boil).

Technically, the cooking time is 3 to 9 minutes (depending on how you want the eggs to be), but it will take extra time to pressurize the pot before the cook time counts down. I have not noticed any difference between fresh eggs from our farm and old eggs in terms of cooking time.

We tested different eggs (fresh and semi-fresh, cold and room temperature) to estimate the above times. Because of the sheer number of variables involved — the number of eggs cooked, the exact amount of water used, the exact consistency of the yolk desired, the temperature of the eggs when the pressure cooker is closed — beating eggs every time can be tricky. time corporate uniform. You can also make 2 eggs or 8-10 eggs, but the cooking time should remain the same; Pressurizing the Instant Pot may take a little longer for larger quantities.
