How To Boil 3 Eggs
You may boil 3 eggs in a pot or a deep container. You should bring the water to boil quickly and add eggs in the boiling water. The eggs white and yolk will take the necessary time to develop properly. Time taken by eggs to boil completely depends on how you want your egg to be from inside.
To begin with, the term hard-boiled eggs means eggs that are boiled on their skins in water until they have reached the stage of being soft, medium, or firm, according to the following methods. Coddled eggs are made by immersing the shelled egg in boiling water for a very short time (to be cooked in water that is just below its boiling point) in order to lightly cook them, or coddle them. If you are using a cooked hard-boiled egg immediately, they are also easier to peel in cool running water immediately after boiling. Once you are done boiling and cooling your eggs under ice-cold water, crack their shells gently and then swat them flat on a countertop.
Roll eggs on the counter (or very gently shake in closed can) to crack, and then peel them under running water (Figure 4). Then, place under running water or immerse them in water to loosen the shell and peel it off easily. If you notice some eggs are difficult to peel, crack them open in the whole, not in one piece, and put them under some running water, or soak them for a little bit in a bowl with ice-cold water.

If eggshells are not easy to peel off the cooked eggs, put them back into ice-cold water and try again after 5 minutes. Have a bowl of ice water handy, so that once you set your timer, you can drop the eggs into it. Remove the boiled eggs immediately with a slotted spoon from sufficient water and put them in the bowl of ice water.

When time is up, strain eggs and move to a larger bowl of ice water to finish cooking. Leave the dozens of eggs in an ice bath for several minutes to stop the cooking process. We want our yolks to look sunny-yellow, so immediately after you remove them from the pan, move your uncooked eggs into an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
Let the eggs sit in hot water for between 4 and 12 minutes, depending on how firm or set you want your yolks. With the second method, heat water to boiling temperature and let eggs simmer for 5 minutes. Simply place eggs into the pan, bring water to a boil, cook low/medium on the stove for around 4 minutes, and allow it to cool slightly.
Put the lid on a sauce pan and bring the water to a simmer on high. Cover the pot with the lid and bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat; once the water has reached the boiling point, lower heat to medium-high heat and set the timer for desired time. Once it has reached a boiling point, lower heat to maintain the moderate boiling temperature, and then set a timer for your desired finishedness (see the table below).
Heat on high until the water comes to a rolling boil, cover pot with lid, simmer 30 seconds, and remove from the heat entirely, and allow to rest for 12 minutes. Once the water has reached a full rolling boil, remove the pan from heat and cover it with a lid. After boiling for 30 seconds, I remove the pot from the heat, and then set the timer for between 10-12 minutes (depending on the size of my eggs). Once water has reached rapid boiling, take a larger pot off of high heat, and tightly cover the egg pot with the lid.
Place eggs in one layer on a plate filled with just enough cool water to fully cover the eggs (about 1 inch of water above the eggs). Directions Place cooked eggs in a single layer in the pan, covered by about 1 to 2 inches of water. Place the eggs into a medium-sized saucepan and add just enough water to cover them with about an inch of water.
Drop your eggs directly from the refrigerator into already boiling water, or put them into the insert of your steamer into the covered pan, and let the steam go on at high volume on the stovetop. Bring your eggs to room temperature by placing them in a bowl of hot water for 5 minutes, or by letting them sit outside of the refrigerator for 1 hour before baking. The water will cool down slowly while it is sitting out of the cold, helping give you a bit of wiggle room before your eggs are too cooked (green-tinged yolks=overcooked eggs). If boiling, you can put the eggs in boiling water, allow to simmer for about 30 seconds just to establish white externality, and then lower temperature and finish at about 180-190F, or 82-88C (very low boil).
Using too much water will make it take too long for the water to boil, which could jumble the timing and cause overcooked eggs. If your heat is too high, you are going to have a few vigorous boils, ending in eggs that are cooked through.
Salt will increase the boiling temperature of your water, making your egg whites rubbery. Adding salt increases the boiling temperature of water, but only about 1 degree, which is negligible.

When I boil 12 eggs in cold water, I agitate the pan so that it bangs the eggs, breaking them open. This allows the moisture to permeate through the eggshell membrane, making it easier to remove eggs. If an egg is slightly undercooked, I hold the eggs in the warm water for a little while longer. Leave eggs in water anywhere from 10-12 minutes, depending on how you like your eggs. That is, depending on the elevation, the shape of your pan, the size of the eggs, the water-to-egg ratio, this may require several minutes longer.
When the water is back at a slow boil, add eggs… Let those slowly bubble, time eggs to be at 12 minutes…After 12 minutes…Then put those into the ice pan.
How long does it take to boil 3 eggs?
Perfect hard-boiled eggs can be achieved by boiling for 6 to 7 minutes over medium-high heat. Transferring them to a sizable dish of ice water with a slotted spoon will allow you to quickly cool them. To stop the cooking, you can also submerge them in cool running water. Moreover, it will make it easier for the eggs to peel.
How do you know when boiled eggs are done?
If your egg has an opaque, yellow center, it has been cooked to perfection. On the other hand, an overcooked egg’s yolk will turn a greenish-gray hue. For consistently flawless hard-boiled eggs, follow the formula below: Put raw eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a medium- or large-sized saucepan.
What is a 3 minute egg?
A soft-boiled egg takes 3 to 4 minutes to cook, and many connoisseurs use the terms “3-minute egg” or “4-minute egg” to indicate the level of doneness they prefer. With the latter, the white is set, whereas with the former, there may be a small amount of unset white surrounding the yolk.
