How Long Does Water Take to Boil in a Microwave?
The time it takes to boil water in a microwave can vary, depending on the quantity used. Usually, 1.5 to 2 cups of water won’t take more than two minutes to boil in a standard microwave. The exact time your specific microwave takes is something you will have to test and find out for yourself.

How to boil water evenly?

After two or three intervals of heating the water, carefully remove the microwave-safe cup and tap it on the sides. If the water doesn’t seem to boil, put the microwave-safe cup back in the microwave and increase the duration of each interval from one and a half minutes to two minutes.

After the water has been heated long enough (at least 3 minutes), take a long tool and tap lightly on the side of the cup. For someone like me, putting the water in a cup, putting it in the microwave, boiling the water, and putting it in a tea bag; seems like an easy solution.
