How Long Does Jarred Tahini Sauce Last

A jarred Tahini sauce can last up to 1 to 2 years if unopened. Once opened, the sauce needs to be refrigerated. It’s best by the best-by date printed on the jar or by 5 to 6 months if stored correctly in the refrigerator.

While it’s recommended to keep an open jar of tahini in the refrigerator, you can keep it in the pantry if your home isn’t too hot. An unopened jar of tahini can easily be stored in a dry cool pantry or kitchen cabinet. You can store closed and open tahini at room temperatures, such as in a pantry or kitchen cabinet. Like other nut butter, tahini can be stored in the cupboard or in the refrigerator, whichever you prefer.

We recommend placing homemade tahini in an airtight container suitable for the refrigerator and, if possible, using the pasta within a few days to enjoy its highest quality. Keep in mind that chilled tahini has a hard, ice cream-like texture that makes it difficult to use.
