Sour cream can last for 1 to 2 weeks in the refrigerator. Sour cream (opened or unopened) is good for up to three weeks after the sell-by date, as long as the temperature is below 40-degree Fahrenheit even if the container is kept open.

Unopened, your sour cream can keep for three weeks past its expiration date when kept in ideal conditions, but once opened, you will want to use it in seven to 10 days.
