You may also want to split the cheesecake into smaller portions and store each in its own separate airtight container.
You can also store your cheesecake using sturdy food containers rather than using plastic wrap, if you are running out. If you are planning on leaving the top of the cheesecake unadorned, you might hesitate to put the plastic wrap right over the top of the cheesecake. Meanwhile, you will want to have plastic wrap on which you can lay slices of the cheesecake before you put it into your refrigerator or freezer. Just be sure that your cheesecake does not have any flimsy toppings, like fruits or sauces, that might be affected structurally by defrosting, and then pack slices of the cheesecake into a freezer-safe bag or plastic wrap.
Then, for extra protection from cold air, place the pie into the freezer bag or container. Keep in mind, a freezer is a lot colder than a refrigerator, so you are going to have to do some extra steps to ensure the cheesecake stays fresh.
