Ramen noodles are a popular carbohydrate source for athletes, teens, coaches, college students, outdoor enthusiasts, and farmers looking for food with indefinite shelf life or very long shelf life. Ramen has an indefinite shelf life, so you can keep as many noodles as you like. Since noodles are very light and essentially a net carb source for quick energy, you should store them for a week.

Leftover noodles should be packaged in airtight bags, preferably freezer bags, and since fresh ramen is about to expire, it’s a good idea to freeze it right away so it doesn’t lose its freshness when you eat it again. While fresh ramen can keep in the refrigerator for about two weeks, it’s best to make it right away. Once chilled, you can expect your ramen to last a couple of days, depending on the ingredients used.

By checking the fine print on a product’s packaging, you can figure out which ingredients in your ramen’s packaging can shorten the shelf life of your noodles. Anything with an expiration date on the package, such as salt, sugar, or corn syrup, will shorten the time your noodles last in the pantry. A fresh and delicious bowl of homemade ramen or take-home from a restaurant needs to be chilled quickly.
