How Long Do Papaya Last?
If the papayas are fully ripe, they can last for up to 6 to 8 days if properly stored in the refrigerator. However, papayas that are stored in freezers can retain the best quality for up to a year but are safe to consume indefinitely.
Once you determine that your papaya is ripe—we’ll talk about that in a moment—transfer the papaya to the refrigerator.
