How Long Do Cooked Onions Last?
Cooked onions can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. It is important to store the onions in an airtight container or wrap them in plastic wrap or aluminum foil to keep them fresh and prevent them from drying out or absorbing odors from other foods.
Cooked onions stored correctly inside the zippered freezer bag and placed in a freezer can last for up to 6 months. Pickled onions can last for around 4-6 months when they are pickled, canned, and stored correctly in a refrigerator. Peeling onions, and then keeping them in a refrigerator, lasts for about 14 days.
Ideally, onions should be stored in a cool, dark area, 45-55 degrees F. Whole, uncooked onions will last for two or three months if stored cool, dry. The best way to store whole onions is in a cool, dark, dry place, where they will last for up to two months.
