How Long Do Jello Shots Remain Safe to Consume?
Jello shots keep for three to five days in the refrigerator on average. While they might remain edible for longer periods, they won’t retain their taste or quality if stored for extended periods. It would be best if you don’t let your jello shots sit for more than a few days.
While jelly balls can last longer than three to five days, we recommend eating them within a few days of making them for the best flavor. A typical jelly ball recipe contains two to three tablespoons of gelatin, which explains why jelly balls can be kept in the refrigerator for about four months without getting too soft. Jell-O shot recipes usually include two to three tablespoons of gelatin, which means they’ll keep in the refrigerator for about four months before they get too soft or lose their firm shape. The shelf life of jelly pellets depends on how often they are frozen and the type of container used—glass containers generally last longer than plastic ones because heat transfers more slowly through them.
Freezing gelatin won’t extend its shelf life either, so it’s best to store it in a covered container in the refrigerator. To preserve the jelly, place it in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to five days. You might be tempted to toss the jelly into the freezer to speed up the setting, but it’s best to leave the jelly in the fridge.
While gelatin takes about 2 hours on average to set, it may take longer if the weather is hot or if you just added too much liquid. In general, standard Jello Shots with half a glass of water and half a glass of wine will go in the refrigerator within two to four hours. Once you’ve filled them all, put them in the refrigerator for about four hours, or overnight, so they can firm up.

The only real decision you need to make for this recipe is the jelly (and vodka) flavor you want to use.
Take the time before starting the main recipe to find a recipe that will give you stronger, longer lasting shots. Despite the name, please don’t try to swallow them in one gulp – you might choke. More than you would normally expect, but the 2 oz syringes contain the same amount of gelatin as these mugs.
Once you’ve chosen your desired cups, you’ll need to drink them through a straw to prevent jelly shards from sticking to your lips. These snack cups can be stored for three to four months at room temperature, as long as the package states that these snack cups can be stored without refrigeration. If refrigeration is not possible, these fruits can be kept fresh by storing them in an airtight container.

To store ready-made jelly pellets (closed jelly cups), they can be stored at room temperature in a dry place without direct heat or light. If you make jelly pellets and refrigerate them immediately, the moisture can condense, causing fungus and mold to grow on the jelly pellets, making the pellets inedible. The problem with frozen gelatin pellets is that the mixture loses texture and flavor when frozen, although people have made successful jelly popsicles by adding Kool-Aid to the mixture with great success.
In no case is it recommended to store dry gelatin mixture in the refrigerator, as the humidity and humidity of the refrigerator can affect its quality and may deteriorate. If you don’t cover your jelly and it gets dripped from other parts of the fridge, people can get really sick.
You can tell if cooked gelatin has gone bad by seeing bright bacteria stains or dark mold on the surface. You can see the water breaking up the jelly and pooling on the sides of shot glasses or cups. Make sure you cover the container(s) properly to preserve the flavor, texture, and color of the jelly.
If the jelly is not refrigerated, it will begin to lose shape and texture after about two days. In a cool, dry place, a package of Jello powder can be stored for months or years past the expiration date. In general, though, about two months of storage in any type of container should keep Jell-O shots fresh enough for you to enjoy.

You can still make jelly shooters ahead of time, and if you wrap and seal them tightly before they lose their mold, color, and flavor, they’ll keep in the refrigerator for three to four days.
