Nutrition facts and Benefits of using Potatoes

The best variety of potatoes for using in mashed potatoes are russet potatoes or Yukon gold potatoes, as they are starchy and easily mashed after cooking. If you are looking to cut up that baked potato and fill it up with some hearty toppings (like broccoli or chile or pulled pork, or salsa and guacamole and black beans…sigh), 6 to 8 ounce potatoes may still be good bets since you are going to be adding stuffing into it to make it a complete meal.

Sometimes, I even will make a whole meal out of just a single potato, loading it with different ingredients. The dimensions and weight specifications stay consistent across all varieties of potatoes, but the nutritional contents vary greatly.
