You can freeze chicken on the bone (grilled chicken pieces), but you must use an airtight container made of hard plastic, as the bone can easily break a zipper bag, resulting in freezer burn or cross-contamination because the bag there is a hole.
I would recommend freezing grilled chicken off the bone so you can simply add it to dishes like soups or large salad pieces that are thawed directly without processing. Because freezing a whole grilled chicken will make both storage and defrosting difficult, it’s a good idea to cut it into pieces before placing it in the freezer. Using pieces of chicken bones and shredding the bones and then vacuum-packing the chicken instead of letting the bones spoil in the freezer is more effective.
You can also de-bone the chicken and store it in small portions for easy use in sandwiches, rolls, salads, and soups. Freezing chicken this way also allows you to freeze small quantities, which means you can only extract as much as you need and less waste.
