Does Ranch Have Dairy?

Ranch dressing is a type of creamy, tangy salad dressing that is typically made with mayonnaise, sour cream, and a blend of herbs and spices. Mayonnaise and sour cream are both made with dairy products, so most ranch dressings do contain dairy.

Hidden Valley Ranch has unlocked the American-favorite ranch across every foodtime and snacking occasion, offering the Hidden Valley Original Ranch in bottles in many varieties and multiple formats so fans can enjoy the ranch flavors they enjoy. The classic ranch brand, Hidden Valley, is expanding to the vegan world with their first dairy-free Ranch Dressing. Hidden Valleyxae Plant Power Dairy-Free Ranch Dressing brings the same crisp, refreshing ranch flavors you have come to love, with a plant-based, dairy-free formula. This Hidden Valleyxae ranch dressing is made with soybean protein to provide a creamy texture and classic ranch flavor, dairy-free.

To make gluten-free ranch dressing vegan, use vegan mayonnaise (I like Hellmans) and dairy-free milk — I used unsweetened almond milk. I did not experiment with almond milk in this recipe, but if you are not into mayo, and you do not want to make this recipe dairy-free, you could try using full-fat Greek yogurt or plain sour cream instead of mayo. To make this recipe vegan, the only change you will have to make is using an egg-free vegan mayo, such as this.

I initially made this dressing using soy milk, which is also a great replacement for full fat milk…but it has one HUGE downside. The single stipulation is that this dressing is made from heavily processed ingredients, which are not healthy for us. By making this recipe at home, you avoid all of the gross ingredients and you can control what goes into it, making this an option for healthy salad dressing. This recipe uses some simple ingredients to emulate the tartness of a wine, but it keeps this dressing dairy-free.

Ranch dressing has always been one of my absolute favorites, and this homemade Ranch DressingDairy-Free Recipe is totally perfect regardless of if you are using regular milk or non-dairy alternative. Try out this vegan ranch dress recipe made with dairy-free mayonnaise, herbs, spices, non-dairy milk, apple cider vinegar, and make your own homemade vegan ranch dressing. The texture of Vegan Filets & Farmers Vegan Ranch Dressing is not quite as heavy or as rich as the dairy-based Ranch Dressing, so if you like lighter versions of the famously creamy condiment, it is the best dairy-free option. Otherwise, you can always make your own ranch dressing by using a dairy-free alternative in place of the dairy products that are commonly found in ranch dressings.

All the aforementioned Ranch Dressing products contain buttermilk, while a few have added dairy, like milk. Many store-bought ranch dressings are made with dairy, highly processed, inflammatory oils, sugars, and artificial flavors. Most cream varieties have dairy in some form, but we found plenty of dairy-free salad dressing products.

Most important, remember that each of the four Ranch brands is an excellent product. If you are looking for specifically Ranch substitutes, then I would choose any of the other dressings.

As a result of this tasting, I would not hesitate to buy and enjoy any one of the four brands of ranch dressings in my salads or as a vegetable dip. I made it a point of hunting down all four brands in tiny-town Montana for this tasting challenge.

We were asked for vegan pastured beef reviews many times, but the truth is that we did not actually purchase any. We just feel like there are better options out there, and for a strong powerhouse in the ranch category of dairy-based ranches, we feel like they could do much better.

We found the Hidden Valley Vegan Ranch at Sprouts, and they did not even have room for the regular Vegan Ranch next to this one. This has great flavor, and Andrew says it might surprise people to think that they had regular ranch. While I enjoyed diving my veggies in this sharp, refreshing dressing, the only thing about Ranch I remember is the name on the bottle. While I am glad that my homemade Ranch Dressing recipe is dairy-free, I still did not like having to depend on a dairy-free alternative.

I made my own dairy-free ranch dressing using everything from regular mayo to Hellmans Vegan Mayo, and also made this ranch dressing using Earth Balance Vegan Mayonnaise. If you are looking for a non-oil-based Ranch Dressing recipe, this one by Minimalist Baker is our go-to. Cashew Ranch – Similar to Hemp Ranch, you will also see Cashew Ranch recipes when searching for a dairy-free ranch, such as this one from Minimalist Baker. Tessamae – This option is dairy free, but it does contain eggs — so if that is an issue for you, this will not work for you.

A basic ranch dressing will consist of one of the above-mentioned dairy bases, along with chives, dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. If you are insanely desperate, as I was, to get your hands on Battle Brand Just Ranch, you can buy that, although the price is twice as high. The last flavor check on battle brands is Primal Kitchen Ranch Dressing & Marinade, which is more like a healthier avocado-oil-based Ranch Dressing–what I would expect if the Ranch Dressing was on the diet.
