Do You Refrigerate Bread Pudding?
Bread pudding needs to be refrigerated as it is super moist and contains dairy items like milk and eggs which are very quick to spoil foods. However, bread pudding should be consumed within 4 to 5 days if stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
You can store bread pudding at room temperature for up to 3 days, but it is safer to store it in the refrigerator as it will last a long time in the refrigerator. You can make it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for a day or two before reheating it in the oven. For best results, store leftover bread pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For best results, bread pudding should be refrigerated for 6-8 hours after baking and allowed to cool to room temperature.

Sliced bread pudding will keep up to 4 days, and whole loaves will keep 1 to 2 weeks when refrigerated in an airtight container after cutting.
Heating pudding in a deep fryer produces an end product very similar to using it in an oven. The longer you keep the pudding in contact with the air, the more likely it is to mold quickly. If you use a higher temperature, your pudding may burn on the outside but remain cold on the inside.
An important part of refrigeration is storing the pudding in a separate, insulated space in the refrigerator. Make sure the pudding is well wrapped on the outside with a double layer of cling film (plastic wrap) or aluminum foil. Before serving, you can check if it has thawed well by inserting the blade of a knife or skewer into the center of the pudding.
Freezing is not my favorite method because I usually use a frozen banana for smoothie, banana bread or banana pudding. The federal government recommends baking bread pudding at 325 degrees Fahrenheit to kill any dangerous bacteria that may be present in the ingredients. The first reason is that your bread pudding needs to be refrigerated because custard recipes are considered egg-based; therefore, they should always be stored in the refrigerator and not at room temperature.
