Can You Use Chicken Broth In A Rice Cooker
When it comes to cooking rice, chicken broth can be a great alternative to water. Not only does it add flavor, but it can also help to keep the rice moist. Just be sure to use a light or low-sodium broth so that the dish doesn’t end up being too salty.
Using chicken stock in the rice cooker is more than feasible, and is actually pretty simple once you figure out how much stock to add. Yes, you can use water in a rice cooker, but by adding a little chicken broth, the rice will be a lot more flavorful, and it is also going to be moister. It added so much flavor to our rice that we used chicken broth while making it. If you want to add a little extra flavor, you can use water, vegetable broth, or beef broth.

Rice absorbs large amounts of liquid when you add it to a soup, so at that point, it is just the quantity of broth, not requiring any more. Bring the water to a simmer, lower heat, cover, and cook on low for about 45 minutes, until water is soft and has absorbed water. Make sure that oil does not touch the floor, otherwise it melts…continue covering rice until you are happy. When the rice is cooked (tender to the bite), leave the lid on the pot, take it off the fire, and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes.
Bring plenty of water to the boil, add your rice, and cook until it is just slightly cooked, and then strain the rice into a strainer. To make quick, easy fried rice, simply crack and fry an egg, add oil and liquid aminos, and then stir-fry cooked rice.
Another idea is just cook cooked rice in water, throw a dash or two of salt and pepper, and enjoy the simplicity of it all. Can I use chicken broth instead of water in the rice cooker?
A little under 1:2 should be the rice to water ratio. In other words, use approximately 1 3/4 cups of liquid for cooking 1 cup of rice. We prefer to use chicken broth when cooking rice because it enhances the flavor. You can substitute water, vegetable broth, or beef stock if you’d like.
