You can substitute vegetable oil for coconut oil. Since they both are natural oils and have a stable smoking point, they can be used as alternatives. For every cup of coconut oil, use one cup of vegetable oil.

Coconut oil is a good substitute because it has a neutral flavor (and won’t interfere with other flavors when cooking) and is also more affordable than avocado oil. Although avocado oil has a slightly more distinct flavor than other oils, this flavor is not often seen when used in cooking. You can also do the opposite and substitute butter for butter if you want a healthier taste, texture, or brownie. If you’re stuck on a coconut oil replacement, almond oil is a similar replacement that you can make and still enjoy some of the unique and subtle flavors that this oil achieves. The best substitutes for coconut oil for cooking or baking may include olive oil, shea butter, vegetable oil, almond oil, avocado oil, neem oil, hemp seed oil, vegetable oil, grapeseed oil, and sunflower oil. I personally do not use canola oil, vegetable oil, grape seed oil, sunflower oil, or corn oil, but canola oil can be used in place of coconut oil in recipes and dishes such as cakes, cookies, muffins, banana bread, and brownies.

If you need an oil substitute for frying or baking, grape seed oil may also work. This is an alternative that can be a bit more expensive than other options. Use grape seed oil for cooking as well, and you can replace it with an equal amount in your kitchen.

Sunflower oil may not be the healthiest option to trade, but sunflower oil still works well if you’re in dire need of it.

Almond oil is ideal for use as a finishing oil, for example in salad dressing or to flavor hazelnut soup. However, its main use may be as a moisturizer, especially on inflamed or irritated areas. Make sure you adapt the almond oil to your taste as it has a stronger flavor and can interfere with other flavors.

Avocado oil is not the most common choice, but it can contain many nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and volatile organic compounds that can hydrate the skin and protect it from infection and irritation.

Olive oil is also suitable for a plant-based diet, so if you don’t have butter in your diet, try olive oil.
