Can You Reboil Eggs
You can easily reboil an egg without much trouble. You don’t need to cook it for longer than just 10 minutes if they are already soft-boiled. Simply boil it the same way you cooked it for the first time just adding a little time to the original boil.
If you intended to cook hard boiled eggs and when you tested them they weren’t hard boiled, you can simmer the eggs until you get the results you want. The main reason you may need to simmer your eggs is because they can be quite soft the first time you simmer them. If you’ve already peeled a soft-boiled egg, you’ll need to proceed with caution, as the contents of an undercooked egg can dissolve fairly easily in warm water.
If you try to boil an egg, take it out, peel it and find that the egg is not fully cooked, so you can safely put it back in the water. If you often find yourself with a half-boiled or soft egg in the morning, you can always throw it back into the boiling water and cook for a few more minutes before they turn into soda. After simmering for another 15 minutes, you can take it out. Boil the eggs in boiling water for no more than 5-10 minutes or they may overcook and become too dry.
You can also dip undercooked hard-boiled eggs into a bowl of hot water and microwave them for three minutes over medium heat, as long as the eggshell has a hole or is already cracked to prevent an explosion. To fix undercooked hard boiled eggs, simply leave them in their shells and simmer for another 10 minutes. The best thing to do if you find that your hard boiled eggs are undercooked is to put them in the fridge and let them sit for a few hours before trying to cook them any further. It is worth remembering that if you notice that your eggs are undercooked, it is best to put them in the refrigerator and leave them there for a couple of hours before deciding to boil them further.
If hard-boiled eggs have been kept in the refrigerator overnight, it is best to boil them again the next morning. If your eggs have been cooked for exactly eight minutes, the egg will be done with a hard white outer layer and a beautiful golden yolk.
For the most part, your eggs are still safe to eat, but some experts advise against overcooked eggs that have a green layer around the yolk. Although boiled eggs are cooked in boiling water with the shell on, the yolk is still soft and dangerous to eat. Raw or undercooked eggs can be contaminated with Salmonella, either because the laying hens are contaminated with the bacteria, or the eggs are laid in unsanitary conditions.
The CDC says that once salmonella is present, it does not disappear in a raw egg or even a lightly cooked one, which is why it is so important to cook eggs properly. Eggs that look normal may contain a germ called salmonella that can make you sick, especially if you eat raw or lightly cooked eggs. It has been proven that you are more likely to contract salmonellosis from raw or undercooked eggs than from properly cooked ones. If overcooked eggs are mixed with many other eggs that are not fully cooked, or stored at a high temperature that allows salmonella germs to multiply, it can make many people sick. The bacterium Salmonella Enteritidis can be found inside perfectly normal eggs, and if the eggs are eaten raw or undercooked, the bacterium can cause disease.

When eggs are boiled too long, they can also become tough and rubbery and end up just not tasting good. You can store them in the refrigerator and use them later (they keep in the refrigerator for up to a week), or you can eat them right away. As long as the insides don’t come out, you can still use the egg if you’re careful and put it in the fridge right away. Store eggs in the refrigerator cabinet in the carton, not in the door, and make sure they are fresh and the shell is intact before use.
