Can You Re Boil Eggs?
To put it simply, you can reboil eggs without worrying about something adverse happening. You can reboil them if they have been left undercooked or they’re not boiled up to your liking. However, this can only be done if the shell of the egg isn’t cracked. If it has been then you cannot reboil that egg.
If you attempt a hard-boiled egg, remove it, peel the shell, and discover the egg is not completely cooked, you may safely return it right back into the water. If you frequently find yourself with a half-cooked or soft egg in the morning, then you can always throw it back into boiling water for just a few minutes more to get it to be solidly cooked again. If you are going for hard-boiled eggs, and they are not solidly cooked when you check, you can boil them back down again until you achieve your desired results.
Once you are done boiling the eggs for a second time, either half-boiled or soft, for about 15 minutes on a low setting, you can remove them. You can also immerse a soft-boiled undercooked egg into a hot cup of water and microwave for three minutes on medium heat, provided that the shell has a pinhole in it, or has been cracked already, to prevent it from blowing up. You can steam your hard-boiled eggs, drop them into a cup of hot water pre-boiled with the shells still attached, or even microwave them carefully. When your soft-boiled hard-boiled eggs are done to your liking, use a tablespoonful of the soft-boiled eggs to scoop out from a bit of the water, place on a paper towel over the work surface, and pat gently to dry.

If it is a soft-boiled egg, then you can always put it back into boiling water for 5-7 minutes. | To do so, immerse the soft-boiled undercooked egg into a hot cup of water and microwave for 3 minutes. |
Once done with that, you will need to heat up some water, either by using a kettle or coffeemaker, and dump boiling hot water on top of the eggs within the bowl. Once the eggs are immersed in the boiling hot water, close the bowl with the lid and let the temperature cool a little. Then gently crack the eggs in a bowl and wash them under the cooling running water until the shells are easy to remove. Instead of leaving it in cool water to chill, remove your eggs and put it into a pot of cool water.

You will want to fill your water pan high enough so the eggs are covered in water, and then keep it on the burner long enough so that the water starts boiling. After boiling for 30 seconds, I take the pan off the heat, then set the timer for between 10-12 minutes (depending on the size of my eggs). For 1-4 eggs, bring the water to a rolling boil, cover the pan, and reduce heat to the lowest setting for 12-14 minutes.
Drop the eggs directly from the refrigerator into the now-boiled water, or put them into the insert of the steamer into a covered pan, and let the steam go on at high volume on the stovetop. When the eggs are done simmering, grab a slotted spoon and scoop them out of your skillet and into an appropriate container.

To test whether an egg is cooked, take an egg out of the saucepan and tap gently on the sides of the pan. Make sure that cooked eggs are allowed to rest on a plate, one layer at a time, to avoid hitting one another or breaking shells during cooking. In case you cracked your shell halfway through, and found the yolk is still liquid, you can cook your solid-boiled eggs again by gently placing them in the muffin pan, shell-open side facing up.
You can also do this with an egg that has had the shell peeled off, though again, you will want to take care that it does not cook for too long. If you peel off the shell of an egg that has been boiled vigorously, and find it is too soft, and thus not cooked through, it is relatively safe to put it back in the boiling water a minute or two longer. Yes, so long as you cooked the egg the first time softly, there is still some water left in the egg for it to bubble some more before getting solid. As long as your first boiling is a soft boiling, you can re-cook it just like the first time, basically simply adding a little extra time to your initial boiling.
If you are doing the boiling, you could put your eggs into the boiling water, allow it to simmer for 30 seconds or so, just to establish the exterior white, and then lower the heat to end it around 180-190F, or 82-88C (very low boil). If you boil the eggs for exactly eight minutes, you will end up with cooked eggs that have solid white shells, with nice golden yolks. If the yolk is still a little too liquidy for your tastes, leave your eggs in boiling hot water for another couple minutes.
It is a lot harder to overcook eggs this way because you are not really boiling them continuously, so even if you really do leave the eggs in the little pan for 15 minutes, you are unlikely to end up with that greenish ring around the yolks, and that sulfury smell that goes along with that. Do not boil longer than 5 minutes if you think that one day you will want to re-boil the eggs or eat them in some other form besides your first boiling.
If you use boiling water and immerse your cooked eggs in it, the reboiling process is pretty safe. If you have already peeled the soft-boiled eggs, you will need to proceed carefully, since the contents of a poorly cooked egg will dissolve fairly easily in hot water. All you need to do to heat up an egg without the shell is carefully place it into the oven and warm it up for just a few minutes, until warm.
What happens if you boil eggs twice?
It is completely safe to reboil the egg as long as it is still in its unbroken shell and has been cooled immediately after cooking and then refrigerated. But if you avoid reboiling an under-boiled egg, it is best to put it into hot water without turning the flame on.
Can I Reboil undercooked hard-boiled eggs?
If you discover that your boiled eggs are undercooked, it is better to put them in the refrigerator and wait a few hours before attempting to further cook them. Even eggs that have previously been peeled can be reboiled.
Can you safely boil water twice?
In general, reboiling water after letting it cool off poses no health risks. It is better to only reheat water once or twice before beginning again. Water that has been boiled again contains more minerals and other compounds.
