Can u eat Persimmon skin?
You can eat persimmon peel and it is quite easy as the skin is not that tough. However it should be noted that the flesh close to the skin and the skin itself can be more acidic or bitter compared to the rest of the fruit.
You can chew the persimmon skin first, peel it off if you don’t like it, and eat only the meat. Peel the skin of the persimmon, cut it into smaller pieces and put it in a food processor.
You can also freeze persimmons for later use; the best way to preserve them is to puree the fruit and freeze it. If you buy ripe or near-ripe persimmons, store the already ripe persimmons in the fruit drawer of the refrigerator so they don’t overripe. To reduce the risk, make sure the persimmons are ripe (it should be a little when pressed), prepare the fruit according to age, and keep the persimmons dry until they are about two years old.

Be careful when introducing persimmons, as fresh fruit can be slippery, contain seeds, and be quite hard (qualities that increase the risk of suffocation). Similar to picking a ripe mango: a ripe persimmon should be slightly soft when squeezed. On the other hand, astringent persimmons such as khachii, when ripe, resemble a jelly-filled water balloon, making cutting difficult.
While non-astringent persimmons can be eaten hard or after they become soft, tart persimmons should only be consumed after they are completely torn apart, soft and rich in color. It is not recommended to eat persimmons on an empty stomach, as excessive use may cause stones.
To make matters worse, these substances can also form stones that are harmful to health. Don’t eat when hungry. The reason is that persimmons contain tannin (also known as pus) and pectin. Raw persimmons contain a lot of calcium oxalate or tannins, so if you eat raw persimmons, the mucous membranes in your mouth will be astringent or wavy. If you eat raw persimmons, you will not only feel like you are eating bitter gourd, but you will also get sick with severe abdominal cramps, vomiting, nausea, fever, or indigestion. Tannic acid accumulates in the stomach, causes abdominal pain, high fever, and in severe cases can lead to death if timely action is not taken. Eating a whole persimmon peel damages the stomach as tannin can form residues, do not eat with goose meat. Goose meat contains a lot of protein, and in combination with persimmon tannin, it easily condenses into protein tannic acid. The peel of the Khachiya persimmon is as soft as any other persimmon species when ripe, so if you can handle that slight wrinkle flavor, you can eat the persimmon peel along with the pulp directly. The skin will be thinner and therefore can be eaten, but because the fruit is so jelly-like inside, trying to eat hachia persimmon like an apple can lead to a big mess. Babies often chew the skin and spit it out, and while this may seem like a waste of time, familiarity with the skin can help encourage children to eat fruit with the skin on later in life. The skin of the persimmon is completely edible, so just one bite is all it takes to safely eat this juicy, sweet fruit. Eat the pungent persimmon on your hands like an apple, or cut it into small pieces or thin slices. To eat ripe persimmons, first wash the persimmons, place the green side down on a plate, and cut into quarters.
You can cook the persimmon halves until they are soft and easy to pierce with a fork, then serve as an appetizer or mash the fruit to make a sauce that can be mixed with soft, spoonable foods. You can easily add persimmon fruits to your diet as a snack, with or without the skin, or include them in your recipes. You can enhance the flavor of your salads by chopping up persimmons and adding them to your baking recipes like cakes and breads. You can eat fresh persimmons or dry them like other nuts like apricots, or you can bake them in the oven and then sprinkle them with honey and powdered sugar.
If your child has skin problems, simply peel the persimmon, or peel it in “strips” to leave some of the skin exposed. Avoid persimmons with significant blackheads – they won’t be harmful, but less attractive.
