Can You Cook With Seawater?
You can definitely cook with seawater without worrying about it harming your health. Seawater is known to be quite beneficial as it cuts down the salt percentage in dishes. There wouldn’t be any need to add cooking salt while cooking with seawater; the former having 96% sodium chloride while the latter has only 86%.
For other foods that may absorb too much salt when cooked with pure sea water, mix a small amount of boiling sea water with fresh water. Add the salt to the beaker and add fresh water until the total weight reaches 1000 g. Stir with a whisk until all the salt is dissolved.
Droplets of condensed water collecting on the lid and dripping into your cup will leave all the dissolved salt behind. The salt also needs to be separated from the water before the water is drinkable, and boiling water alone cannot do this all the time.
