Can Quinoa Go Bad?

Quinoa might go bad but it has a long shelf life if stored properly. If stored dry in an airtight container, it can go well for up to 3 to 4 years in the pantry. However, for cooked quinoa, it must be stored within 2 hours after cooking and consumed within 7 days.

Because quinoa has a long dry shelf life, it’s hard to tell if it’s gone bad. It’s hard to tell if raw quinoa has gone bad simply because its color and flavor won’t change much. When dry and raw, quinoa can keep for a good 2-3 years before it starts to spoil.

When refrigerated, cooked quinoa will typically keep for three to seven days. How long quinoa can be kept?

It is also important to remember that quinoa should not be stored at room temperature for more than two hours because this also encourages bacteria to multiply, which can cause quinoa to spoil quickly.
