Can Condensed Milk Be Used Instead Of Evaporated Milk

If you want to use condensed milk instead of evaporated milk, you can do that, but the caramelly notes of evaporated milk will be missing. While coconut milk can be used as a substitute in many recipes, it’s worth noting that coconut milk has an undeniable coconut flavor that can change the flavor of a recipe. Coconut milk has a unique coconut flavor, so be aware of the impact on the overall flavor of the recipe when substituting.

Half will have a thicker texture and slightly richer flavor than condensed milk, however this substitution is likely to be sufficient when added to most recipes. If you have both ingredients on hand, this substitute can be made in seconds. Because I’m aiming for simplicity in this recipe, as opposed to my perfect pumpkin pie which takes much longer, I usually use a graham cracker crust with filling that you can make or buy.

What you have left is milk, which has no additives or anything, but it is a condensed version. If you plan on using oat milk, you can buy it from your local store or make a homemade version. The condensed milk has been removed from the water by about 60% and a lot of sugar has been added before canning at the factory.
