Can Dried Mushrooms Go Bad
According to Baraghani, dried mushrooms perform best when they are kept in an airtight container or a resealable plastic bag. Keep them in a dry, dark area like the freezer or the back of a cabinet. Dried mushrooms may remain for a very long time if they are kept dry, according to Baraghani.
If stored correctly, dried mushrooms will last an unlimited amount of time, although they can suffer a bit of deterioration of flavor over longer storage. Senior Food Editor Andy Baraghani says dried mushrooms hold up best when stored in a sealed plastic bag, or, ideally, in an airtight container. Airtight containers and plastic bags are popular choices for packing foods to keep cold, but are not best for keeping mushrooms. Another way to keep mushrooms relatively fresh is to store them in plastic bags lined with paper towels to help trap the moisture.

Let the mushrooms cool down then place in well-ventilated containers to help preserve it best, or you can simply store it in your pantry. Clean the mushrooms thoroughly, and then place them all in an oven at 17C/400F for around 4 to 5 hours, until they are fully dried. While drying is going to be the method you will want to use for a longer shelf life of your mushrooms, you will want to store them in a cool environment if you are planning on eating them in the next couple weeks.

For people that are experienced with Magic mushrooms, Magic mushrooms which have gone bad, when stored correctly, can last for six months and longer, whereas Raw or Fresh Magic mushrooms may only last up to two weeks when stored in the refrigerator. It is essential that you learn to properly store both the fresh and dried Magic mushrooms as it is essential for maintaining their shelf life, and, of course, their power for keeping them is the psychedelic and hallucinogenic effects. Magic mushrooms, particularly when dried, can last for a year, however, a few factors cause Magic mushrooms to spoil sooner.
Drying dried mushrooms is also a good way to preserve them for later, making them less likely to get spoiled before you can get to using them again.
